Ensembles

  • Vocal

      Chancel Choir:  Adults and high school seniors sing weekly at the 11:00 a.m. worship hour. The Chancel Choir sings challenging literature that represents music of all historical periods, but especially music from the serious contemporary genre. Membership in the Chancel Choir is open to anyone. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. In addition to morning worship leadership, the choir also offers two major evening concerts with orchestra annually.       Celebration Singers: Senior high youth sing two or three times a month at either the 8:15 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. service. The choir often joins the Chancel Choir in multiple choir anthems on festival days. Membership in Celebration Singers is open to all who love music and wish to serve their church. Rehearsals are on Sunday evenings from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

      Middle School Choir: Middle School youth sing on a rotating schedule at either the 8:15 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. service. The Middle School Choir often joins the Celebration singers for combined anthems, especially during the Christmas and Easter seasons. The Middle School Choir also joins with the Chancel Choir for festival anthems. Membership in the Middle School Choir is open to all who love music and wish to serve their church. Rehearsals are from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

      Alleluia Choir: The older elementary children's choir is for singers in grades 3, 4 and 5. The Alleluia Choir sings monthly at the 11:00 a.m. service, offering age appropriate anthems. The children's choir rehearsal provides multiple learning experiences including singing, movement, exploratory instrumental playing  and story telling. Membership in the Alleluia Choir is open to all children. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 5:45 p.m. until 6:40 p.m. 

      Carol Choir:  The younger children's choir is for singers grades 1 and 2. The Carol Choir sings at least once every two months at the 11:00 a.m. worship hour. The Carol Choir often joins the Alleluia Choir for combined anthems. Emphasis in the Carol Choir is to begin an understanding of the singing voice and a love of singing. Membership in the Carol Choir is open to all children. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 5:45 p.m. until 6:40 p.m. 

      Creative Workshop: This exploratory choir for ages 4 and 5 meets weekly for an informal time of singing and children's activities. The children sing in worship twice a year at Christmas and Mother's Day. The children meet on Wednesday evenings at 5:45 p.m.

      One Voice: One Voice is a women's trio that sings monthly in worship on a rotating schedule between the 8:15 a.m.and 11:00 a.m. worship hour. The trio also provides excellent programs outside of worship for church events and community gatherings.

  • Handbell Choirs

      Wesley Ringers: The Wesley Ringers are a five octave adult choir that rings challenging music written for handbells. The choir rings at least once a month at the 11:00 a.m. service. Membership in the choir is by director's invitation. The Wesley Ringers rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 5:15 p.m. until 6:15 p.m.

      Sanctuary Bells: The Sanctuary Bells is a three octave adult choir that rings monthly at the 8:15 a.m. worship hour. The choir meets on Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Membership in the choir is by director's invitation

      Youth Handbell Choir: The Youth Handbell Choir is for youth in grades 7 through 12. The choir is currently a two octave choir that rings every two months at either the 8:15 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. worship. The choir rehearses on Sunday evenings at 4:00 p.m. Membership is open to all youth.

  • Instrumental

      Brass Ensemble: The Brass Ensemble is for adults with playing experience. The ensemble plays standard brass ensemble literature ranging from Gabrieli to Dupre. In addition to literature for brass, the ensemble often provides colorful accompaniment to anthems sung by the Chancel Choir. The Brass Ensemble rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Membership is open to all adults with playing experience.

      Woodwind Quintet: The Woodwind Quintet plays demanding chamber literature written for flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon. The adults in the quintet offer music monthly at the 11:00 a.m. service. Rehearsals for the quintet are on Monday at 7:15 p.m.

  • Contemporary Worship Music Leadership Team
  • "Rock of Ages Praise Band": This combination of singers and instrumentalists provides music leadership for the "Contemporary" worship service. Four singers from a larger group of 12 rotate into the morning worship hour each week. The singers are supported by two keyboardists, three guitarists and two percussionists. A worship leader provides guidance for the congregational participation. The Rock of Ages Praise Band rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 6:45 p.m. Membership is open to all.

    Drama: This intergenerational group provides short presentations for the "Contemporary" service on a rotating schedule. The group also provides presentations outside of worship at other church functions. The group meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

  • Sacred Dancers
  • Adults and Youth provide interpretive movement for anthems, processionals and special events. Membership is open to all. Rehearsals are Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m.
