It has been a difficult year to see so many people suffering because of the hurricanes that have hit the southeast this year.  I have been impressed with how our congregation has shared the love of Christ in a number of ways.  You have been very generous through your giving, contributing $63,000 to go directly to hurricane relief.  Thank you!

Besides monetary donation, many people of all ages have been hard at work to assemble approximately 1,000 health kits and 50 flood buckets.  These have been delivered to UMCOR distribution sites in Mississippi and South Florida.  We have also taken two trips to First United Methodist in Gulfport, MS, and one trip to Belle Glade, Florida to help with clean-up and repair efforts.  One of the members of the 22 member Gulfport team, Tim Matthews, has written a wonderful picture-filled report that documents the trip.
