Sunday Worship Times
First Church, Orlando shares three distinctive Sunday morning Worship services:
- 8:15 a.m.: The first worship service is a traditional service that emphasizes the spoken word, personal reflection, prayer and traditional hymns. A time of healing is included in this service on the last Sunday of each month. This worship service is held in the sanctuary.
- 9:30 a.m.: The second worship service is a “contemporary” service filled with music provided by the Rock of Ages Praise Band and powerful messages from our pastors. This worship service is held on the first floor of the “new” Ledbetter Building (formerly the Wesley building)
- 11:00 a.m.: The third worship blends traditional liturgies, creative worship arts including vocal choirs, instrumental ensembles, organ, dance and drama, and the Word of God in scripture and sermon. This worship service is held in the sanctuary.
Holy Communion at all Services every first Sunday

Adult Mission to Guatemala |
The mission team started a construction project that a number of teams will work on over the next year. The project will build 4 classrooms to be used for Children's ministries. They will also be building several stoves for the church and community. Most people cook over open fires in Guatemala. Many women suffer from respiratory problems because of this practice. The stoves will cut down on the amount of smoke that is inhaled by those who are cooking for their community.
The team took crafts and games for the children in this village, and spent time each day with an increasing number of neighborhood children after their school day was over. Our FUMCO children made 312 bracelets that were distributed as gifts for the children.
Those on our team with medical experience helped with an existing medical clinic on Monday and Tuesday.
Team members who participated in this trip were Alan Jewell, Brad and Christina Cowherd (and Emma Jane), Britt Gilmore, David Dean, Ed and Gloria Lobnitz, John and Nellie Miller, Karen McQuaid, Melanie Carriveau, Mike and Carol Latham, Mike Norris, Scott Davidson, Sean Walker and Tim Kingsbury.

Russian Mission Trip
December 26, 2006 |
Support our Mission Team with your prayers. Tom,Wendy, Tyler and Victoria Tanenbaum, Dutch and Jackie Anderson, Scott and Faith Davidson, Dennis, Melody and Jordan Benbow, David Caylor, Karen McQuaid, Georgia Williams and Alan Jewell left the day after Christmas to spread the Good News of Jesus.
The main focus of this trip was to give a Christmas Party to 3500+ orphans. the partys were to be held at the Adventist University in Zaoksky, Russia. Field trips to orphanages were held to further the bond with the children and to identify any opportunities to improve the lifestyle of the children at the orphanages.
We have many storys of bonding with the children, with the University students (many of whom are from other eastern bloc countrys), with the local residents and Russians in general from Moscow to Zaoksky, Russia. As a team we look forward to sharing our experiences, raising the awareness of God's people in need and look forward to focusing resources to further God's work.
