The primary projects include clothing for the needy, lap robes (small quilts), school bags, and other special projects. Volunteer gather on Wednesday mornings to work together, although there are a variety of tasks that can be done from home. Particular tasks are sewing, cutting and sorting. Sewing Ministry Report, 2009

Our mandate for most of 2009 was to work down our inventory of fabric in anticipation of having to move from the Wesley Building or to disband our ministry. In mid-October the news of reprieve lifted great stress.

We are grateful for the support of FUMCO staff and church members for allowing us to minister to our community and far beyond, using our God-given talents and resources.  Donations of fabric, sewing machines, clothes, toiletries, etc. have confirmed the need for this ministry to be a channel for goods available to be relocated.

Within our church family we made items for the Wesley Child Development Center, Children’s Ministry, Senior Friends, Nursery, Friends at Home, Guatemala and Sager-Brown Mission Teams, church members and friends.

Others with whom we have worked:

Schools: Fern Creek, Lancaster, Pineloch, Eccleston,
Nursing Homes: Westminster Care
Churches: Conway United Methodist,  Pine Hills Community  (Earl Nobles Center),
Organizations: Orlando Youth Theater, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Orlando Regional Medical Center, Servant’s Heart, BETA House, A Gift for Teaching, Interfaith Hospitality Network, American Cancer Society, A Place of Hope, Buddy Break, Seniors First,  Hunters Creek Sewers and needy persons  and students coming to our door.
